From Cosy Corners to Castle Dreams – Why I Created The Magical Print Company
Hey, I’m Em – the designer, tea-drinker, dog-walker (shoutout to Minnie), and font-obsessive behind The Cosy Print Company. If you’ve been following along since the early days, you might’ve noticed something new has popped up lately… something a little more sparkly, a little more Main Street, and a lot more Disney.
But before we dive into castles and character meet-and-greets, let’s rewind a bit.
It all started back in 2020—yep, the banana bread year. What began as a bit of a lockdown distraction (and a way to keep my hands busy while the world stood still) slowly turned into something more. I started creating prints that felt like home: comforting, nostalgic, and full of heart. I wanted people to smile when they saw something on their wall—something that reminded them of their dog, their favourite cuppa, or their local town centre. That’s the vibe of Cosy Print. Warm, familiar, and a little bit cheeky.
Fast forward to 2025 and The Cosy Print Company is bigger, brighter, and still proudly independent. I’ve added more collections, expanded into themes like mental wellness and neurodiversity (hello, The Sensory Corner), and met some incredible customers along the way.
So why create a second brand? Enter: The Magical Print Company.
If you know me personally—or have even scrolled my Instagram once—you’ll know I’m a full-on Disney girlie. Raised on the classics, obsessed with the parks, and someone who tears up when they hear the opening note of “Happily Ever After.” Disney isn’t just a fandom for me—it’s a comfort zone. A place I go to breathe when life gets too loud.
At first, I tried to sneak a few magical designs into the Cosy world, but it quickly became clear that they needed their own home. The vibe was just different. Disney brings out a different kind of joy, nostalgia, and sparkle—and I wanted to honour that properly.
That’s how The Magical Print Company was born.
It’s the glittery little sister to The Cosy Print Co. While Cosy is all about familiarity, home, and northern charm, Magical is where I can let my Disney heart run wild. Expect hand-drawn theme park snacks, quotes that hit you right in the feels, and designs that’ll have you booking a flight to Orlando before the checkout page even loads.
Behind both sites, it’s still me—but also, Clare. And honestly? This whole thing wouldn’t function without her.
Clare is the tech wizard, logistics queen, and general fixer of all things. She builds and manages both websites, manages the multiple subscriptions, handles all the SEO, analytics, Google-y things I pretend to understand, and somehow keeps everything ticking in the background while I’m crying over font pairings. She's the one who sets up the printers, builds the furniture, wires up the new equipment, and does the post office runs when I am knee-deep in new print designs. If something works smoothly, it’s probably because Clare sorted it. She's the calm, capable one with the to-do list, while I’m over here in my ears deciding if a pink or purple background feels “more EPCOT.”
Basically, I dream it—Clare makes sure it doesn’t fall apart.
Two brands, one shared dream: to create art that makes people feel something—joy, nostalgia, calm, excitement. Whether that comes in the form of a Teesside Monopoly board or a Dole Whip print is totally up to you.
And yes, running two websites is slightly chaotic. We’re figuring it out as we go, listening to your feedback, and seeing what sticks. Some days it's smooth sailing, other days it's more like a runaway Mine Train. But every like, share, message, and order means the world to us.
This is where you come in We’ve added a little voting box below so you can tell us what you want more of—cosy northern charm? magical Disney vibes? both? Your vote helps shape what we do next, and we genuinely want to hear from you.

Thank you for being here—for supporting small, for loving what we do, and for helping make a little corner of the internet feel a lot more magical (and cosy).
With love (and possibly a Pepsi Max Lime),
Em (and Clare Quietly in the background) x
